Online Advertising & Website Optimistaion is a workshop I have developed to help beauty therapists build their businesses. Specifically to help with your online presence and how you can use the Internet to get more clients.

It is very important now for any small business to have a website, and for salons and beauty therapists this is essential. Traditionally clients used to find therapists through adverts in local papers or publications such as Yellow Pages, more and more now the first place they turn to is the Internet.

The course is structured and designed to be taught without jargon and techno-babble. I understand the beauty industry and I also understand the technology behind websites and the Internet - and with this workshop I hope to bring the two together. Online advertising is simple, it isn't scary and it isn't something that takes a lot of time or effort. With a little understanding of where to start you can do it yourself.

You don't need to be paying companies to run your Google or Facebook adverts ... you can do it yourself for a fraction of the cost they will charge. And every penny you spend will go on the getting more views of your advert and website rather then paying someone to do it for you.

Course Topics

  • Great websites: We look at what makes a website appealing to visitors, we will review our websites and help each other to improve the layout, the design etc where needed.
  • Types of advertising: The difference between paying to be listed on Google and not paying and why one is harder then the other.
  • The first page of Google: This is where everyone wants to be, and we talk about how to get there.
  • Links: If people like your website they will link to it, the more links the better. So we talk about how to help get more links.
  • Google Advertising: You can pay for a Sponsored link on google (it costs just a few pence) and is very simple. I'll show you how to do it and manage your adverts
  • Facebook: Everyone's talking about it, and companies are finding it a great place to get clients. We talk about setting your business on Facebook and how to use it to promote yourself
  • Facebook Advertising: You can pay to advertise here too - again its cheap, simple and quick to do
  • More: There is a lot that we can talk about and do, we try to cover what you want answering in each workshop

Course Structure

Wherever possible we use the student's own websites for case-studies so to provide the best possible outcome from the day. The workshops are very informal, and are hopefully a fun environment to learn about the subject from myself and each other.

The day involves group discussion, tasks for you to complete to help you think about and understand online advertising, demonstrations of creating and managing adverts.

For courses held in Wolverhampton lunch is provided, along with plenty of tea, coffee, water and hob-nobs throughout the day.

Questions & Answers

I don't have a website yet - should I wait to get one before coming attending?
Not at all, the information and manual from the course will help you understand the world of Websites and then how you can design it from the start for maximum exposure and to get the maximum benefit from it.

Will we cover ...... in the workshop?
Once you are booked onto a workshop I will e-mail you a short questionnaire to complete. This just helps me understand what you currently online etc. And it also asks if there is anything specific you would like to know about SEO or online advertising so that I can make sure it is covered in the session.

Will you create a Facebook page / advert for me during the workshop?
Not in the group workshops, we will use my accounts and dummy accounts for demonstration purposes. If you wish to book a one to one session as part of that we will go through and create all the accounts, adverts and pages you wish. This will then allow you to leave at the end of the day up and running.
