Shop > Shaving Brushes

There was a time where no-gentleman would shave without a good brush, but over the years these have become less common. My personal preference is to use a brush, again they help lift the beard ready for shaving and they allow you to relather quickly and easily. You will find that you will get a much richer thicker lather using a brush then you will achieve with your fingers alone.

Barbiere Pure Bristle Shave Brush

£8.75

Italy, where they supply the traditional barbiere (barber) is a great source for the finest shaving brushes. The bristles have to be a balance between the right degree of resistance and softness, with the ability to raise the beard and generate a fine, rich lather. Also extremely important is a stand for the brush as the bristles should always dry down and not up to the handle. This is more hygienic and helps prevent the bristles falling out. Always dry your brush by hanging on the stand provided.

Premier Synthetic Bristle Shave Brush

£29.95

Simon Shaw, Wahl UK Artistic Director said of the new shaving brush `The men-u Premier, synthetic bristle shaving brush is the best I have ever used! The bristles are easily cleaned and you use less product. I have always felt uncomfortable about using badger bristles.`

Good barbers use a quality shaving brush to facilitate the optimum shave. The bristles have to be a balance between resistance to raise the beard and softness to generate a fine, rich lather. These bristles are soft like badger (definitely NOT badger as they are synthetic!) but with resistance to raise the beard, making a closer cut easier.

After 3 years in development - this is a revolutionary, new type of shaving brush. Probably, the first significant change to the shaving brush in over 250 years and we believe it is simply the best shaving brush you will have used!
